MDI10 - Miss Egypt

Agh, I never, ever want to see this doll again! It's taken me about a month to get it done - and that's mostly the full doll. The portrait..well, I didn't realise the reservations for Miss Doll International were up now (thought it was next week) so had to rush the portrait. Considering that, I think that side of it is decent enough although I'm not 100% happy with it.

But the full doll...I started out pixelling it. Didn't turn out well *at all* and I started again, then gave up and started tool shading. Smudging, dodging and burning...nope, wouldn't co-operate.

Eventually I felt like giving up - this was about two weeks of shading, scrapping, shading, scrapping..and that darned skirt refused to work. In the end I decided on one last try - "pixel" shading but with the brush instead of the pencil...so, she's shaded following a pixel-shading tutorial but is still tooled, if that makes sense. Admittedly, she could be improved but I'm quite happy with her as she is and fingers crossed she passes through so I can do better in the next round!
